VISION
We, at the ETSB, are… passionate people moving ahead together to make our school board the best place to learn and a great place to work. Anywhere!
To achieve this vision, the Eastern Townships School Board strives to be:

- An inspiring place, where our personnel are valued as individuals, make a difference in our students’ lives and are ready to innovate and to take risks to ensure student success
- A welcoming place, where parents, community members, and business partners have an important role to play in the enhancement of our students’ learning environment, by providing real-life experiences and outreach opportunities for our students
WHY CHOOSE THE ETSB
At the ETSB we believe that every child can succeed and is to be guaranteed a top-notch educational experience, which is built upon a combination of the school board’s four foundational pillars:
- Student engagement
- Pedagogical leadership
- Attachment-based developmental approach to learning for students
- Professional learning community (PLC) approach to growth for all staff
The team also believes strongly in continual learning for all its employees and offers many opportunities, which support professional improvement, innovation, creativity, and career advancement.
The ETSB has been and continues to be very successful in integrating technology in the classroom. Every teacher is given a device and access to extensive professional development to enhance student engagement in learning through technology. Most classrooms feature an interactive SMART Board, and as per our one-to-one laptop initiative, every student from Grade 5 to Secondary V is provided with a Chromebook for academic use.

The ETSB is an inclusive school board running an integrated model of education for students with special needs. In many classrooms and support centres across the school board, one will find special education technicians and handicap student attendants working attentively with students with specific needs to meet their educational goals.
The school board has an extensive complementary services department made up of psychologists, psychoeducators, career and guidance counsellors, drug, alcohol, and addiction counsellors, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, readaptation officers, and community and spiritual life animators.
The ETSB prides itself on assisting individuals in meeting their goals of learning and advancement.
At the ETSB, all new teachers are paired with a mentor, allowing both individuals to bring forth and share the knowledge and skills they possess. Whether it was obtained recently while studying at university or while teaching over many years in the classroom, this sharing and guidance contributes to a better education for the students and benefits everyone involved.
In addition, various training sessions are available to all employees, both new and seasoned. It may be as a one-to-one observation/discussion session, or it may be animated by a support team from any one of the categories of employment.
As well, many planning days include offers of professional development for teachers, animated by one of the ETSB’s pedagogical consultants: language arts, math, French, social studies, science, fine arts, physical education and health, or special education.
The ETSB provides education across many communities. Here are some of the region’s advantages:
- One becomes part of a phenomenal family of employees.
- Working for the ETSB means being part of one of our exceptional communities, where the members support, foster, and give back to the schools.
- The schools are an integral part of the communities they serve and are a strong link for the anglophone population found there. They are also a hub for activity where students and staff benefit from those community members who develop breakfast programs, fundraise for a new playground, and so much more.
