Educational Consultant-Sexuality Education/Culture and Citizenship in Quebec
Full time Position-Supernumerary
We are an English language school board located in the beautiful Eastern Townships and Montérégie regions which offers a stimulating and bilingual environment to our students and employees.
NATURE OF THE WORK
The Educational Consultant will advise senior officials in the educational services, teachers and other professionals in matters concerning the implementation, development and evaluation of sexuality education within the curriculum, the appropriate academic organization and the selection and use of methods, techniques, equipment, teaching material, etc. Within the mandate, this person will also advise school staff on the means for integrating the new Culture and Citizenship in Quebec program, including the preparation and delivery of training and information workshops on components of the program. He/she collaborates with school resources, partner organizations and the Ministry.
The candidate will also be required to work in close collaboration with the members of the Educational Services team, guide and contribute to reflection on educational success and relevant data, in collaboration with school teams and educational services. They will analyze existing data, as well as search for the best tools, resources and means with which to establish targets and indicators and concretely measure progress. Specific pedagogical dossiers will be assigned, that could include pedagogical integration of technology, coaching and mentoring of teachers and administrators, homeschooling, and/or online and distance learning.

keeping abreast of research and new developments in the fields of sexuality education and culture and citizenship in Quebec, especially with respect to curricula and educational methods, complementary activities, educational material, and methods of evaluation;
collaborating with and/or advising school teams using this research as a means of supporting them in the improvement of teaching and assessing the learning of these subjects;
collaborating with teachers, administrators and professionals, introducing both experimental and other new developments, providing information on new requirements brought about by change and encouraging a continuous process of evaluation within the milieu.
acting as an instructional coach, including collaborating with teachers, administrators and professionals in relation to stimulating new and innovative evidence-based approaches in the classroom.
providing advice on questions concerning the professional improvement programs for teaching staff, plan for these programs and assess the results, as well as develop evidence-based resources and materials to support teachers.
organizing professional development sessions for teachers, or modelling lessons in the classroom;
analyzing and interpreting data collected to make recommendations to the Director of Pedagogical Services and advise the board and all persons concerned in the improvement of the teaching of Sexuality Education and Culture and Citizenship in Quebec in schools.
representing the ETSB in relevant MEES and regional meetings and participating in school board meetings such as: Pedagogical Services, Principals’ Tables (when necessary), Educational Services Advisory Committee (when necessary) and inter-board committees.
contributing to the development and application of ETSB policies and pedagogical services departmental objectives based on ETSB’s Strategic Plan, Pillars and Partnership Agreement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in the appropriate specialty, namely Sexology
Permanent Quebec teaching license;
Recognized as an effective leader;
Knowledge of Quebec Education Program, Progression of Learning and Frameworks for the Evaluation of Learning;
Excellent skills in both oral and written French and English.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Knowledge of technology, its integration for pedagogical purposes, and various learning management systems/distance education platforms (GOOGLE Workspace, TEAMS, Zoom etc,).
